Vegas 2011

Vegas 2011! Jess and I said, "Hey your birthday's on the 12th and mines on the 13th....Let's go to Vegas on the 14th!" And that's pretty much how it happened. Next thing we know the work day was done and it was time to head to the airport! Bags packed here we go! Our first night in and were staying at the Monte Carlo! Great hotel, awesome location, yummy places to eat and to die for Bloody Mary's by the pool! They have an awesome bar called Minus 5! Which literally means it's minus 5 degree's in the bar. They give you a huge coat, boots and gloves before you're allowed in. Once in everything in the bar is made of ice! Even our glasses that we drank from were made entirely out of ice! They even had their own Mt. Rushmore! Very impressive!
Our first adventure! We stopped at Brand Steak House for a drink and some delish shrimp cocktail! It was so pretty I had to take a picture! They made our Kristini's perfect with a hint of "holy crap that's strong!"

Oh how I LOVE our Carnival Court! Jess wanted a BIG drink! So $27 later she's got her HUGE lemonade & vodka concoction and we're ready to have a good time!! The Carnival Court brings back so many crazy memories from our fun day's of Sheri, Sarah, Spaulding, Lindsey and I starting our annual Thursday arrivals with drinks at the court! I was thinking about you girls and missed you a ton!

Jess and I love our reality TV of the Girls Next Door, Kendra and Holly's World! So naturally we had to stop by Planet Hollywood Hotel and see Peep Show staring Holly Madison! It was SO good! Great dancing, singing, fun sets, costumes, ropes and saddles! Yes, ropes and saddles! It was a very entertaining show and Holly was in it the whole time. We expected her to make a 5 minute cameo however she was in a lot of it, singing even! Go Holly!

I was apparently feeling very generous the entire weekend and I felt the need to give the casino's all of my money. I feel like this is be coming a common trend. Its very rare that the casino is as generous as I am. You know what? Actually I take that back. They did give me a Coors Light or two. It's been a while since I've enjoyed a $200 beer!

30!

It's here the dreaded 30th birthday! I'm no longer in my 20's, however I must say it was a great past decade! I drank legally, decreased my car insurance rates, have a great job, met my husband, bought our home, have 2 crazy dogs and an amazing family & friends that loves me! What more could I ask for? Justin took me out for my last night in my 20's to Kazmiers wine bar and to Cowboy Ciao for Dinner. This morning I awoke to a brand new RED purse from Coach from my amazing husband! When I walked into work I had a huge stack of embarrassing but totally awesome balloons waiting for me from Jessica. Doughnuts from Todd and a dozen red roses delivered from Justin. Such a great day!

Tomorrow Jessica and I leave to celebrate our birthday's VEGAS Style! Can't wait!

So all in all I guess I'm okay with this getting older thing. 30 day 1 is off to a great start so far!

San Diego!!!

We're going to San Diego! Sea World and the San Diego Zoo here we come!

Tea, Emily and I making our first stop at Starbucks before hitting the road! Gotta have my latte before making the drive. Let the vacation begin!
After a long drive we pulled up to our hotel, got our swim suits on and jumped in the pool! The water was nice and cool and the weather was absolutely perfect! The girls played on the water slides and went pool to pool swimming like little fish!

This is one of the views from our hotel room. There was a sea lion that sat out on the dock every night and sang to us. He's no Celine Dion that's for sure!

After a hard day of driving and swimming I took the girls down town for some of the best sea food in SD, Anthony's Fish Grotto! And what do they order? Pasta with red sauce! Emily did eat a few of my shrimp but really?? Pasta??

The girls loved the pier! So much to see!

First stop after walking into Sea World, the Sea Lions! They were extra hungry. So Tea and Emily fed them breakfast.

We had a brief encounter with a sea gull but the fish made it into the Sea Lion's belly. They were so cute!

Pasta, Pasta, Pasta!

Getting ready to watch the Dolphin show! Our first show at Sea World!

Checking out the Sea Turtles in the brand new exhibit!

I hope he has a good dentist!

Watching Dad's favorite show! The Pet's Rule show! As Justin says, "Any show that can train a house cat is impressive!"

"We want to sit in the SOAK ZONE!" Us: "Ok, suit yourself! We'll be up here." The girls got so wet they were literally squeezing out their socks! Here's a picture of their laundry set out to dry! Shamu doesn't mess around!

For only $5 you can attempt to climb this latter, fall on your butt, and not win a prize! "Can we try again!?! I know we can make it to the top this time!" Lucky for them, Dad's a total sucker! So $20 later we walked away with no prize...

The longest line we stood in all day was to see the Sesame Street characters! Elmo and Big Bird!

The tide pool! The girls were infatuated with the star fish! The water was 55 degrees but that didn't stop them!

Sea World has rides!

The San Diego Zoo!

Love this!

This was seriously a sign posted by the lion exhibit! Hilarious!

Checking out the giraffes!

Emily taking a picture of Justin and I on the Pier. One more time.....Back to Anthony's! Justin wants clam chowder! My response is, "well, let's go back to the best place for it! Anthony's here we come!" This time Emily got the shrimp and Tea changed it up and got the chicken tenders...What am I going to do with this child?

Great picture of the 4-D Sesame Street show at Sea World! It was actually really fun to watch!

Leaving the Zoo. We had a great time in San Diego! What a great family trip!

Pistacho Pudding!!!

Funny story...

So for Easter Sunday, my cousin Sarah hosted Easter brunch at her home. I offered to bring Pistachio pudding as my dessert. So I'm making it the night prior, you know...adding the pineapple's, the cool whip, mixing, and it smells oh so good! Love that scent! And like the directions state, it must chill for an hour or so. In this case I'm thinking, great, I've got all night for this to set.

Well...Sure enough the next morning I go to take it out of the fridge and it's sure is moving a lot. So I think, well, it tastes like pistachio pudding and it looks like pistachio pudding, so it must be fine right?

By the time I get to Sarah's on the other side of Phoenix, what jiggle was there is now completely gone. We now have Pistachio soup on our hands. I couldn't figure out how I screwed up the directions? I mean, yes it was my first time making it, but seriously, how hard could it be? Right?

Needless to say, Sarah's hosting 4th of July. So me being the woman that I am, refuse to let my pistachio pudding incident hold me back! I will make this dish correctly darn it! Even if it kills me!

So last night I asked Justin to bring me a "tub" of cool whip while he's at the store. Which he interprets as a "tube." So right of the bat I'm thinking Oh Lordy I'm Doomed! But as it turns out it works just fine. Then I proceed to read the directions yet again. ONLY this time I realize it says add "a Package of Pistachio Pudding." NOT make the pistachio pudding with all the ingredients (add milk). Duh!!! So last night we had our first successful batch of pistachio pudding with pineapple, cool whip from a "tube," marshmallows and of course maraschino cherries!

YUM-O!

St. Louis Trip for Jason & Mary's Wedding

We're in St. Louis for Jason & Mary's Wedding Weekend! Let the fun begin!

First day in St. Louis! Our hotel was literally across the street from the Arch. So we decided to check it out.

Lindsey, Spaulding, Sarah, Me and Sheri!

Spaulding & I holding up the arch. It's a tuff job but someone's got to do it!

We tested our college degree's while walking through the history museum underneath the arch. Turns out I'm the one with an actual degree IN History and had no idea what we were looking at! So we just had fun and checked out all the cool stuff.

For instances....A Buffalo! Now that's some historical stuff! My date for the night Miss Sheri! We had so much fun! Dinner, dancing, laughing, giggling, facebooking and texting at 3am! Oh goodness what fun!

The luckiest groom in the world! Check out these fine looking ladies!

Spaulding, her baby bump aka "Mini Mart" and 2 random guys being really weird...Not sure where they came from?

The beautiful Bride, Mary and her handsome new Husband, Jason

Sheri and Ken being silly towards the end of the night. We had so much fun, met some new people, saw some old friends and over all just had a blast. Who knew St. Louis had casino's within walking distance, 4 lane bowling allies that are SO much fun, Starbucks that are closed on Sunday and a giant river running through it! What's that big river over there? ....Uh, the Mississippi? Oh...

Cribbage - Mom vs. Me

I skunked my Mom in Cribbage! This never happens so YES I'm blogging about it! So excited! Whoohooo!

Easter Sunday

Our beautiful Easter Princess, Miss Sedona Rae! The second I walked in the door she came running over and gave me a big hug! This, by the way, is the only way to be greeted. So CUTE! She of course showed me every single egg she received from the Easter Bunny as well as her chocolate bunny.

Of course Easter with the Robison Family is never complete without Bunny Cake! Aunt JoAn made two beautiful cakes this year. One chocolate and one strawberry so of course we had to try them both! Poor Sedona's pig tales kept falling into the icing as she ate. So Grandma Julie pulled her hair up into her head band. It was pretty funny. She loved her bunny cake! Hard to believe this little girl is already 3 years old! She also showed us how she knew the capitals of the United States! Especially since I know most of us were thinking uh...Las Vegas? And she'd blurt out Carson City! So impressive!
