Tea's in Town

Tea's in town for the week!   This week flew by, and why wouldn't it?  Time always flies when you're having fun!  Tea and Emily absolutely dominated at Dave and Busters.  I've never seen anyone win as many tickets as these two girls.  They were both able to buy with their winnings 2 strobe lights, because what's life without a strobe light?  Another light fixture and bought me a laffy taffy.  That was almost 4000 tickets!   Yum-O!
Tea and Emily hit the 500 ticket and then the 1000 ticket machine!  I think we need to take these girls to Vegas!  They are super duper lucky!

Tea and Justin headed to Los Angeles for a quick 2 day trip.  Tea said she wanted to see the Hollywood sign and the Hollywood Stars Walk of Fame.  So naturally Justin bought two tickets after Dave and Busters and they were off!  Tea's riding in style in her Mustang Convertible.  Don't forget the sunscreen!

I love this picture.  Justin and I have the same picture from 6 years ago when we first started dating.  There's a great crepes breakfast place right around the corner from here that we just fell in love with.  Tea got to experience the amazingness as well.  And boy did they rub it in by sending me photo updates of their crepes and iced mocha's.

Here she is getting to see the infamous Hollywood sign!
All in all it sounds like they had a fabulous time.  They both came back sunburnt from riding around in the convertible and with huge smiles on their faces.  What more could you ask for?

21 Weeks and Baby's Firsts...

This Baby is already feeling the love! Look what Jess gave us to congratulate us on a Girl! So stinkin' cute with a little pink elephant! She's already so stylish!

Pam Stine sent these from California when we thought we were having a boy.  I still think she'll look amazing in this little blue onesie.  From what I hear you go through a few outfits a day so the more the merrier!  The books are so cute too.  I already read them to her.  Crockett and Roxi must've thought I was nuts reading to my belly!

21 Weeks

The baby's future furniture from Buy Buy Baby!  Start saving your non-expired 20% coupons from Bed, Bath and Beyond.  I'll need them!  The trick is they can't be expired.  But 20% off is 20% off so thank you in advance for your coupons.

This isn't a good picture but this is the baby's future bedding.  It's a light purple with black and white.

I'm still playing with ideas for the paint but I'm liking this design except it would be purple, of course. Whether it'll be stencil at the top or bottom, or plain purple, or stripes who knows?  I seem to be changing my mind on an hourly basis so I'll keep you posted.  The best picture I'll be able to send will be when it's all finished.  So much to do and only 19 weeks to go!

20 Weeks at the Lake!

The question of the day....Do pregnant girls sink?  Not with this fabulous flotation device!  This is where I spent most of my day.  The water was perfect!  Not too hot, not too cold, just right!  My poor belly and the tops of my thighs got sun burnt.  I have to admit I look a little ridiculous with a bright red belly.  My Dr asked, "Are you sun burnt?"  Me: "Yep, just trying to speed up the cooking process"  I'm sure I've been nominated for Mother of the Year Award...

Baby's first time on a boat!

It's a GIRL!!!

It's a GIRL!!!  And not a BOY!!!   Huh??  What???  I can't believe it's a GIRL!  We're actually having a little girl.  Bring on the ballet slippers, tap shoes, pinks and purples, ponytails, and extra cuteness!

Measuring at 20 weeks and 2 days

The ultra sound was so much fun.  The tech showed us the different parts of her brain, her spine, her kidneys, her liver, and her little baby ribs.  She's going to be perfect with 5 fingers and 5 toes!  Nicole and Mom joined me for the unveling of the sex of the baby.  We were all shocked!  And then we all teared up!  So much excitement and huh's??  all happened at once.  I'm so glad they were both there to share such an amazing experience with me!

Mom and I went out to lunch after the appointment and all I could do was be on my phone googling baby girl rooms with purple themes.  I never felt so unprepared.  My plan (yes I'm a planner) was to purchase cribs and dressers that afternoon as well as begin the registery process.  The only problem was, everything was geared to a boy.  So it was back to the drawing board!

Lindsey joined Mom and I at Babies R Us to give me the 411 on everything baby.  I had no idea they needed so much stuff.  I felt like I was saying, "Why do they need that?"  and "4 different kinds of strollers are you nuts?" not to forget "9 bottles?  What are they gonna do with 9 bottles?" as well as  "What's this for again?"  Lindsey was right there to answer all of my questions and we got the basics accomplished.  It's still a work in progress but she wanted to make sure I had the bare necessities to survive once Baby comes home from the hospital.  Since Lindsey and my Mother will be moving in for a month I think we'll both survive.  Oh did I not tell you both that?  That's part of my plan as well ;).  But no, seriously, I'm not joking.

Apparently this is not the way to try out mattresses for your baby.
Me:  This thing is junk I can feel everything!
Lindsey:  Okay, well your baby will weigh the size of my purse so this really isn't the way to try out a mattress.
Me:  Oh, I guess that makes sense.

Of course we had to get a picture because I looked pretty ridiculous!

My Drink of Choice

Those of you who know me well, which most of you do, know that drinking is one of my favorite hobbies to partake in.  However the Dr's and the Surgeon General aren't big fans of alcohol while pregnant.  Therefore being pregnant has completely cramped my style for the last 5 months and it's starting to get to me.  So, naturally, I found a compromise.   Instead of my infamous Kristini's in martini glasses, I've now switched to OJ on the rocks, shaken, not stirred.  I've also found joy in Sprite on ice in a wine glass.  I'm not sure why but the glass makes everything better!  So while I may look stupid I'm enjoying my mocktale in style.  I mean it's only another 5 months right?  I can do this!

19 Weeks

19 Weeks and counting.  We'll know for sure in one more week if the baby's room will be Purple or Tan!

18 Weeks

The San Clement Model Girls Room Upstairs.
The paint color complimented my outfit so naturally I picked this room to take my weekly photo.
Week 18:  This is the week I actually feel pregnant.  I feel like I have a signifigant bump and not just the "I ate too much for lunch" stomach.  Sleeping is getting weird.  I can no longer sleep on my back so my choices are my left or my right side.  No big deal except when you want to roll over.  That's where the fun begins.

Waking up 3 times a night to simply roll over starts to get annoying after awhile.  So I thought let's try something new?  Lindsey suggested her Snoogle.  The Snoogle is an extra long pillow that curves at both ends so you can use it for your head, let your belly rest on the side, and then it wraps between your legs.  Seems like a great idea right?  Extra support everywhere right?   I lasted 3 minutes with it.

My first issue was I needed my normal pillow for my head because I sleep with 2 pillows usually.  So adding another pillow to this giant snake like thing wasn't exactly ideal. Rolling over is quite the fiasco because you have to literally take the entire thing with you.  It's like being joined to another person except they're fabric and get stuck on the sheets.  It's like a crazy circus.  I guess the snoogle is not my cup of tea.  I'm currently open to suggestions if anyone has any ideas they'd like to pass my way.  Keep in mind drinking till I pass out is no longer an option, neither are pharmaceuticals.

The Snoogle
See how comfortable and happy she looks?  Maybe it's her jammies?  Maybe that's my issue?
