Invitation Celebration

Mom, Lindsey, Karen and I made a date to pick out our "Save the Date," wedding invitations, center pieces and linens, Monday afternoon.

Talk about exhausting!

The center piece alone is enough to drive you mad! You'd think just a simple candle with a mirror on a white table cloth would be perfect? Oh no....That'd be too easy! So then you decide to get crazy and throw in a color linen with the white. Are you crazy! Did you know there's a rule about alternating a color linen on one table and a white linen on the next? Apparently it will look "picnicky" and is frowned upon for a formal setting. Why you ask? Who knows? I think it'd look fabulous! But the linen nazi didn't seem to think so.

Then the Mother of the Bride will ask..... "What if it's windy? What about dripping wax? Will the linen company mind if you spill wax on their table cloths? Do they come with candles or do we need to make a stop at IKEA?..."

Well thank goodness she's the wonderful M.O.B. that she is! I sure as heck didn't think about any of these scenarios. Apparently the company DOES mind if you spill wax on their linens, they do have wax protectors, wind insurance and their own candles. Sorry Mom we won't be going to IKEA after all. :)

No one ever tells you about all the little things you have to do to plan a wedding. All you hear about is the dress, the cake, maybe the dreadful electric slide, but mostly the happy couple. Who'd of thunk wind? On that note please pray that it's a crystal clear night, with no clouds, no rain, no dust, and no wind.

Naturally after all this stress we headed to Brio for a much deserved happy hour. Tina, the bartender, promised she'd save all the corks throughout the week. We'll see her on Friday to collect.
