Wine Tasting and Line Dancing

We tasted a couple whites and a couple red wines and came to a unanimous decision for the reception. Basically we just wanted an excuse to get together and drink wine :) Then we taught Layne how to line dance! :)
Interesting transition for the night I must say....

The Famous Bachelorette Party

What an amazing Bachelorette Party! My girls, Aunt JoAn and Janice put on one hell of a night! We began the evening with crazy games like "pin the hose on the fireman," drinks and goodie bags galore!

(just take a guess as to what was in these goodie bags!)

Aunt JoAn and Janice pulled out all the stops with their mad partying skills! These ladies know how to plan an amazing event! I think they need to start their own bachelorette party business! Everything from the balloons, to the dares, to the party bags, to even the ice cubes was thought out! Thank you Aunt JoAn and Janice for making this night truly AMAZING and SUPER FUN!

Then we jumped in the party bus complete with, jello shots galore, balloons, hip hoppin' beats and a dancing pole! Mom even jumped up and got her groove on! Thank you to my fabulous bridesmaids, Mom, Janice and Aunt JoAn for our Star Studded Ride! I never thought I'd see my Mom up dancing on a pole!

Throughout the night each girl, including me, had to complete a dare. Sheri's was to take a picture on a motorcycle. Lucky for us there were 10 outside the first bar we went too! Some very nice Harley ridin' men were kind enough to let us sit on their bike. Too funny!

One Crazy Night in general! Did I mention there was bull riding as well?? Literally road and fell off the bull at 3 different bars! Just an insane crazy night! Thank you again to everyone for making it so incredibly wonderful! I'll never forget it!

My 10 Year Reunion

Wow, 10 years come and gone. My how time flies when you're having fun! Corona's 10 year reunion was last night at Cien Agave's in Scottsdale. It was a great time! About 200+ people attended. The food was great, the drinks were flowing, and we had a blast! With the exception of a few surprises such as, this girl lost weight, that guy gained, he's now balding, she married who? Everyone is still pretty much the same.
Justin was by my side the entire night. Thank goodness too. You'd think going to your 10 year reunion wouldn't be stressful being that it's just your high school friends that are there, but some how it still was. I must say I am happy to be finished with high school and moving on with my life. I'm so excited and looking forward to our future together. Only 12 days till our Wedding!

Tea & Daddy

Tea's back! For how long we don't really know. One story is she's here till January another story is they're moving in late October?? Regardless we're loving having her here in Arizona! Tea came over and spent the night with us last Saturday night. Daddy & Tea had a great time wrestling, cheerleading and playing with Roxi.

Bridal Work Begins!

With less than 7 weeks till the big Arizona reception it's time to get down and dirty! My Mother and my fabulous bridesmaids came over to help me with all the trimmings. Mom and Lindsey addressed the invitations, Nicole cut the corks for the place cards, Sarah cut and tied ribbon and Sheri glued like a mad woman! :)
align=center>We drank, ate amazing homeade cupcakes that Sheri slaved over and had a great time! I'm sure all of our hands were cramped up and sore the next day. Lots of work, lots of fun, and lots of love goes out to my girls! Thank you again!

Ho-Ho Lights in September!

Yep you read it right! It's Christmas at the future McConkey's! In preparation for the reception we've already begun decorating the backyard. Dave (Lindsey's Dad) and my Mom helped hang ho-ho lights throughout the backyard. It looks amazing! We're still in need of a few more white lights but otherwise off to a great start. The best part of all, we didn't blow a fuse! Knock on wood.
Thanks again Mom and Dave for all your help. I couldn't have done it without you both!
What exactly is a "ho-ho light?" Well the story goes like this....
When my sister and I were little we couldn't say the word Christmas so we improvised and changed Christmas Lights to Ho-Ho lights. Now that we're in our 20's one would think that we'd have grown up a bit and learned to call Christmas decorations by their proper name. However it has yet to happen. So Ho-Ho lights it is!

I'm Famous! Well, at least at my company for a day or two...

My company has a weekly video spot through our portal on the Lennar News Network, LNN, and I'm on it! This video is based on my homeowners group, The Layton Ladies, through Meetup.com. My boss liked the idea of a community meet up group so much he sent an email to his boss, who then sent it to their boss, who liked it so much they sent it to LNN to do a produce an episode for the entire company to see. These are produced on a weekly basis out Miami, FL. It's very rare that you see an LNN video be produced from a community level perspective. Anyway I'm really excited and honored that I was able to be interviewed for the LNN episode.

Click on the link above and you'll see pictures of Justin, Tea and I, our bunco group, our first Layton Ladies BBQ, and many other homeowners here at Layton Lakes. You'll also hear my work colleagues Jeremy Smith, Jessica Dammier and my voice. As well as my boss VP of Sales and Marketing, Mike Dowell and Alan Jones my division President who also contribute in the interview.

Grandpa Dixon

My Grandpa Dixon aka "Grandpa Far Away" passed away August 18, 2009. He was 91 years old. I know he's playing golf with Grandma and talkin' flying with Daddy. He's in a much better place but I will still miss him. His funeral will be Wednesday August 26th at 12:30 at Dayspring Church here in Tempe, AZ.

Worlds Greatest Bridal Shower

Saturday, August 8th Lindsey and her Mother, Roxanne surprised me with the best bridal shower ever! It was hosted at D'vine wine bar in Ocotillo. Dave, our Sommelier and host, took my family and friends through the history of wine. As we learned about the different flavors and types of wine we drank, drank, and drank some more. I think Grandma didn't quite understand the concept of tasting, she thought it was more of a gulping class!

When our lesson in wine history finished the shower began. We played "how well do you know the bride?" Nicole beat out Mom and McKenna with a few lucky guesses. Lindsey had all the ladies fill out "advice for the bride" cards before the shower began. I then had to guess who said what. I did pretty well but some of the advice was unexpected yet absolutely hilarious! We were definitely the loudest ones in the place. After opening gifts we had cake and continued to "taste" some more. I'm not sure where the bottles kept appearing from but I certainly wasn't complaining? It was great!

Sarah did a great job putting together my practice bouquet for the wedding rehearsal. My only question is how to pack it for Maui??

It was an amazing night! I had so much fun and am so grateful to have such wonderful friends and family. Thank you again to Lindsey and Roxanne for making my bridal shower unforgettable!

Girls Trip to Colorado

Sheri, Sarah, Lindsey and I flew up to Denver, Colorado on Saturday night to play for the weekend with Spaulding! We visited the Coors Brewery & the Alpine Slide in Golden. The Tea factory in Boulder. Ate a fabulous brunch in Denver with Tim, and stayed and played at the St. Julien Hotel on Pearl Street. Here are some of the pictures from our Colorado girls trip.
As you can see we had a great time! Love my girls!
